In speaking of the mindfulness attitude of Letting Go, in “Full Catastrophe Living,” Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, shares that “…Cultivating the attitude of letting go, or non-attachment, is fundamental to the practice of mindfulness…Letting go is a way of letting things be, of accepting things as they are.”

This mindfulness attitude is demonstrated in coaching as we accept people “as they are” with “non-attachment” to their agenda or story, letting go of advice-giving, etc.

In my experience, demonstrating this level of presence as coaches cultivates the attitude of letting go, which can be applied in and outside of coaching conversations. Read more
